Exactly what equipment do you expect to use to test this aspect of a camera's performance? This isn't noise or dynamic range being discussed here. I tend to think what happens when you attempt to shoot a BIF is the end-all be-all of BIF performance assessment.

It's proven that waiting on DPR to get in-depth can take a long time. And in this case, you aren't waiting on anything in particular.

I do not do testing, I do photography. I think amidst other equipment, AF speed testers must have good electronic chronometer.

Also I'm patient, and I can wait as long as it takes for DPR (or any other reputable place) review. I'm fed up with first impressions.

Camera in bag tends to stay in bag...

A 10 dollar metronome is actually a very useful device for testing focus tracking. Luckily I have one.
