No question, the 14-140. It's not as sharp overall as the 12-40 (who would expect it could be?) but at no aperture or focal length will you find it lacking in sharpness. It focuses nicely close, too.

I have a quite impressive barrage of lenses yet when I go through my stuff in Lightroom, I find that this one lens accounts for about 50% of my output.

I decided on the 14-140 as my one zoom lens. When out and about, taking pictures in good light outdoors the 14-140 is plenty sharp and bright enough, f5.6 and the sweet spot is f8 ...

for me the f/2.8 zoom lenses are too expensive and not too bright, i.e. outdoors you go to +- f/8 anyway, indoors I prefer to use the 25 f/1.4 and the 20 f/1.7... so, I'm happy I got the 14-140 II ...

now I'm waiting to see how the new PanaLeica 15 f/1.7 pans out...
