Nikon 24/2.8 AIS and D610, should I be able to see the aperture on my camera updated with the lens
6 months ago

Hi all,

I just got a Nikon D610 and tried using an old 24/2.8 AIS lens I had on it. I put the camera in Manual, set the focus to manual and also set up Non-CPU lens with a setting for 24mm and max aperture of 2.8.

My question is: when I turn the aperture wheel on my 24mm, should it be automatically updating the aperture on the camera and therefor update the metering? It seems that it fails to meter when I adjust the aperture on the lens. No matter what I adjust the ring to, the camera stays at 2.8 aperture and I have to update the Non-CPU lens setting to change the aperture to meter correctly.

Thanks for any help!

Nikon D610
