No, I'm not being snide. To me, presets are just rules waiting to be broken.

they are starting points. There's no point in changing settings each time before you begin developing!

Sorry, what is tone curve severity?

I find the Canon camera presets in LR to be underwheming. If I use one it is usually neutral. Camera Standard looks good, but mainly because it increases contrast and saturation so much- would rather control them myself if I can.

So I generally start with:

Sharpening 50

Clarity 5

Vibrance 5

Saturation 5

BTW "auto" exposure mode always increases exposure WAY too much for me, making it kind of useless, does anyone else have this problem?
