Telephoto Lenses That Are Soft On the Long End
2

Do Panasonic and Olympus believe its mandatory for their 300mm zooms to be soft on the long end? I don't get it frankly. I seems obvious to me that anyone buying these lenses want to use the long end primarily. I know its a matter of cost but if there are compromises wouldn't it be better at the shorter focal distances. Is that possible and still come in at a reasonable cost?
