A6000, jpeg engine not bad, AF-S not reliable.

I had my doubts about the jpeg engine in the new A6000: is it better or worse than the NEX engine ?

First, when I received the camera, it looked worse.

After some tweaking:

A6000 Standard, LOW noise reduction, AF-C, center

NEX-7 Landscape, LOW noise reduction, AF-S, flexible spot in the center

The test is not very exact or scientific, the light changed, and it is at 500 ISO, however...

The NEX-7 was AF-S, with flexible spot in the center, the A6000 was AF-C, center focus.. so it focused between the two bushes.

The A6000 gives inconsistent results in AF-S, center or flexible spot modes, I wonder if others see this too ?

Both were set High ISO noise reduction to LOW, it seems that A6000 applies less noise reduction than NEX-7.

Also the Creative Styles, standard, neutral, landscape, vivid, are different.

Both shot with the SEL18200 OSS at 200 mm.
