I own a Panasonic GH3 and 4 days ago took the plunge finally after a long debate on speedboosters/focal reducers and ordered a focal reducer FD to M43 from here:

Camdiox Focal Reducer FD to M43

I actually contacted the same seller on eBay who told me that he didn't think it would work on my Olympus OM-D E-M1. I actually got this one from Roxanne

I also ordered an adapter: Canon FD to M43 adapter

A got myself a Canon FD 50mm F1:1.4 S.S.C. lens which is amazing ! No dust specs or fungus and in excellent condition.

I have the identical lens (later model without the S.S.C. marking on the lens) which is excellent with a plain adaptor. It's produces the most pleasing looking bokeh of all the lenses I have.

I have noticed that when I mount the lens to the adapter the chrome ring will turn around 2 inches until it tightens, whereas with the focal reducer it will turn around 4/8 of an inch before it tightens. Is this normal ? Is the focal reducer faulty ?

Can't speak for yours but some of the tiny screws which hold the metal ring on the lens site worked themselves loose on mine. I had to find a micro screwdriver to tighten them up a little.

FF equivalent focal length I believe is now 72mm (50mm x 0.72 x 2) with an amazing F1.0!.

There seems to be a lot of debate about this on the forum so I won't add to it... but I'm pretty convinced about the 'light gathering ability of a f/1.0' which interests me! (As I shoot primarily in low light)

Canon FD 35mm F1:2.0 S.S.C. (with adapter: 70mm F2.0, with focal reducer: 50mm F1.4)

What do you suggest for a close alternative to what you can get from a Voigtlander 25mm (FF=50mm) F0.95, I guess this Canon FD35mm with a focal reducer will be the best you can get on FD ?

I had exactly the same thought process... let us know what you find... I have have the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95. It's great for low light but not the sharpest lens ever...

Maybe if you stop it down a bit to F1.4 it will get sharper ?

This picture below gives a 60's shoots feeling specially with the "blood red lipstick"

Here's an example shot...

Olympus OM-D E-M1 with Voigtlander 25mm at f/0.95, 1/250s, ISO 5,000
