I've been saying the same thing for years. Correcting CA requires anomalous partial-dispersion (ED) glass. It costs more but this isn't rocket science.

There are no ED elements in any Nikon prime lens from 50mm to 135mm focal length, except for the 60mm and 105mm G micros.

Presumably they think people don't care.
