1.  Explain to her how to read the shutter speed.

Explain what a fast shutter speed looks like ( say, 1/500 ) and a slow shutter speed ( say, 1/2" ).

Explain that if she see's 1/2", she better not be hand-holding ( and why. )

i.e., "The cause of motion blur / fuzzy photos is slower shutter speeds.  Help the camera out."

Explain to her how to up the shutter speed (assuming hand holding ), either via aperture or ISO.

2. Explain to her the basics of how the camera decides what to focus on.  Show her how to pick the different focus points.
