Uh...  no.  Canikon entry level stuff can be quite craptacular.  My GF's EF 50mm f/1.8 feels like it came out of a Cracker Jack box.  My EF 75-300mm IS USM feels not that far from that.  My Dad's D5100 two-lens kit is about the same.

In contrast, the higher end stuff feels like you could club baby seals with them, wipe off the lens and then document the brutality for National Geographic.  For Canon that's most of the L-grade lenses, some select non-L-grade lenses, and the weather-sealed bodies.

Tokina has some really killer-burly stuff beyond what I've seen with L-grade stuff.
