I do find that avoiding ISO 100 - I prefer ISO 200 or 250 - gives me much cleaner shadows.

Unfortunate as ISO 100 really is cleaner in other areas. I'm happy I currently don't have to sacrifice the pros of 100 to get less noise in the shadows. Excellent strategy on your part though. Makes perfect sense.

Exactly, and why its not an oversold issue in the eyes of those who do work at 100 for the most part. Something they just have to deal with in workflow. Regardless, things keep getting better!
