X-S1 - Do I leave as is or get the sensor upgraded?
Apr 16, 2014

I have an X-S1 camera from when they were first released -  Serial 21A0xxxx - it does not exhibit any of the much discussed lens droop and I never had an issue with orbs in pictures taken with bright lights or sun reflections.  I have had some purple shading on a handful of pictures but really not a problem.

I have been thinking of bringing it in to the local Fuji repair center in New Jersey to have the sensor upgraded.   Does anyone know if they do the upgrade directly to your camera or do they give you a later serial number model with the newer sensor?  Would the newer sensor provide a noticeable difference in image quality over the original sensor?

I guess I am a little hesitant to bring in my X-S1 if there is a chance I could end up with one that has a droopy lens.  Any comments are welcome.  Thanks
