Image size difference

I own both a Canon 6D and a Nikon D610.  I have found the actual picture size of the Canon 6D is 76in  x 50in (5472x3648)  and the picture size of the Nikon D610 is smaller, 20 in by 13 inches(6016x4016) ,even though the Nikon is 24 MP vs 20 MP of the 6D. Why is this? I am using Infranview for  my viewer.  I have checked the  image size in the Nikon menu and it is set for "FX". All settings in both cameras seem to be set  o.k.  Why this difference in image size?  Thanks
