Not shooting professional sports but my kids sporting activities which range from high school to elementary.  Both indoors and out.  I have done well with my Nikon D300 using the 70-300 VR 4.5-5.6 and for Indoors Sigma 50-150 2.8.

I would assume the low light capabilities of the a6000 are far superior to the D300 therefor even if I had a lens that wasn't as fast as the 2.8 I would still get better shots with the better ISO performance. For me, the max 200mm is the hardest part.  Really need 300mm but hopefully sony will come out with this at some point.
