C&C: My 1st DSLT Pic with A65 & Kit Lens

Took 4 bad A65 pics, IMO, as they looked like ok quality P&S pics fro my 12mp Kodak. After reading a lot of forums about manual focus vs auto focus as well as ISO, I decided to try manual mode on the camera. I set the camera to these settings:

Shutter Speed 1/160 Aperture F/14 ISO 200 Focal Length 26mm

It was a partly cloudy day and I was attempting to get a slight blur of the background with the manual focus and camera setting to make her the focus of the pic. This was done with the standard 18mm-55mm kit lens. Let me know what you think.

Pic of my Stepdaughter.

Shutter Speed 1/160 Aperture F/14 ISO 200 Focal Length 26mm

Makes me want to get a better lens or even a prime and see what I can do.

Sony SLT-A65
