Night Street Photography : Small-sensor/wide-aperture or big-sensor/moderate-aperture ?

Well, if my priority is having most of the scene in focus, would it be better to have a small-sensor camera with lense wide-open or a full frame camera but closing down the aperture ?
I would like to keep the shutter speed about 1/80.
For example, in micro 4/3, there is a 12mm f/1.6. In full frame that would be a 24mm f/3.2 regarding DOF, but f/1.6 regarding light. Is that correct ?

I'm trying to evaluate is going full frame would be counter productive for this kind of photography.
Well in full frame, I could probably crank up the ISO cleanly to be able to close down the aperture and get the DOF I need.
