And please feel free to elaborate on your choice. I'd really appreciate it.

TIA

I've just gotten a new Dell Inspiron 3847

  • i5 4440 (3.1Ghz)
  • 8 gig Ram
  • Win7 (Home Premium)

FWIW, I'm currently taking advantage of the 30-day trial of McAfee that came on it but prolly won't go that distance with it should a clear winner of this poll materialize.

I've also installed the free version of MaleWareBites with no plans to upgrade to the paid version. I plan to use it in concert with whatever AV contestant wins this poll...

Please, if any of the contestants aren't actually free, let me know...

In the past, I've used Norton (Win98), AVG (Win2k) & most recently MSSecurity Essentials (XPmce sp3). Norton & AVG seemed bloated & heavy & MSSE let a few tough ones get by so I'm lookin' for a full service, RealTime AV that doesn't bog down the system & doesn't let much get by that is completely free & won't demand payment after a month.

Once again, TIA
