A key factor in the larger lens size compared to m4/3 is the larger sensor in the Fuji. A m4/3 sensor is, I believe, only about half the size of the Fuji sensor. I've used every format from 110 to 8x10, and it's generally fair to say that a lens with the same maximum aperture and the same focal length that has to cover a larger format will be bigger than the lens that only has to cover a smaller formal.
