I may be wrong but this case seems too rare for the manufacturers to bother. I'd say most photos are taken within a few meters range. So much so that for example, in my personal experience, lenses aren't optimized for sharpness at infinity.

Landscape photos are certainly mostly focused far or at infinity. Same with sports. Very usual subjects.
