Can someone explain this discrepancy?

I'm still learning my new E-M10. I was trying to test the difference in lenses between the kit lens (The OLYMPUS M.14-42mm F3.5-5.6 II R) and my DSLR lens (OLYMPUS 14-54mm Lens).  I think the DSLR lens is sharper as I expected (see photo, below)

But what is surprising me, is that even though I used the same focal length, the angle of view is different between the two lenses.  you can see the difference a bit in the photo above, but it really shows in the photo below.

I would have thought the framing and what is shown within the two photos would be identical (if I weren't horizontally challenged). Even though one is not level, I would have thought they would be closer in framing.  I do notice though that the objects common to both, appear to be the same size.

Anyone have any ideas?
