Instructions on using a rear converter.
Apr 5, 2014

For those that are not aware, I give you the instructions that came with my Pentax 1.4X HD AW rear converter.

The rear converter can be used at the maximum aperture, but better results can be obtained by stopping down the lens by one or two f/stops. Image quality may deteriiorate especially when a lens brighter than f2.8 or a zoom lens (especially in macro mode) is used. In this case, stopping down the lens by more than two f/stops is recommended.

Also, the rear converter decreases the depth of field by one f/stop. For example, if the paerture is set to f8 the depth of field is equivilant to that of f5.6.

The above should apply to any rear converter that you use.
