Search around online for the service manual...

If the sound is unbearable, you can disable it by cutting one of the wires to the speaker.  Another option is to block the speaker holes with something.

Sony really should take more care in design. Another poster mentioned clutter and I'd like to see sony take more care with visual clutter on their cameras. I already have the camera... I don't need to see "APS-C", "16.1 MEGAPIXELS", "AVCHD", "WIFI", etc printed on the camera. All nothing more than visual clutter.
