The thing with shutters is, you never know how long they'll last. Even if it was replaced, it could die on you in 100k shutters, and even if it wasn't, it could last you that long, you never know.

If you're really concerned, I'd buy it off you for $750

I'm in total agreement with this guy. 5 batteries and a grip? Even if the shutter hadn't been replaced the price seems fair. You got a workhorse D700 that's in rough shape, but works fine. $700 seems fair. Hey maybe the guy did lie to you. But I bet you'll get two years out of the D700 no problem even with that many actuations. I say 2 years because I take 100,000 shots per year, ha! I mean, how much do you shoot?
