2560 x 1440 text size
Mar 29, 2014

I'm debating whether to buy a monitor with native 2560 x 1440 resolution. I'm running Windows 7 Pro. I'm concerned that text on a 2560x1440 res monitor will be too small for my older eyes.

I know that Win7 has a text size adjustment using:

  • Screen Resolution > Make text and other items larger or smaller > Choice of Smaller, Medium, or Larger.

I'm currently using "Medium" because I notice that if I use "Larger", sometimes text can look a bit blurry.

With my current 1680 x 1050 resolution monitor and using Win7's "Medium" setting the text is just right to read. I'm afraid that if I go to a 2560 x 1440 res monitor that the "Medium" text size will be too small.

Have you folks running a 2560 x 1440 res monitor with Win7 found that text sizes are a bit too small?  If your text size is fine, what Win7 text size setting are you using?
