You understand why a mirrorless body requires a different mount and flange distance from lens to sensor compared to a dSLR body, right?

There is no such requirement for going mirrorless (which only affords the ability to reduce the flange). Take Sony A-mount for example. The only thing that may warrant the mirror is legacy lens support otherwise Sony could easily remove the mirror.
