I have grown tired of shlepping the D90

There is no free lunch. If you used the 18-200mm lens on the D90, are you going to be happy carrying another lens in addition to the one you have on your A6000?

The weight savings, even with the weight difference between a D90 and the A6000, won't be that impressive, especially as you want two lenses, and you'll have to change lenses. That seems like more rather than less schlepping.

As for the issue of putting an aesthetically large lens on an A6000, why not get this 18-200mm lens:

It's like your current 18-200mm lens that you say give you wonderful results. The Sony version is not that heavy, and thus more suited to the little A600 than, say, the f/4 model. Then you'd have what you want, a far easier time making photos.

And you'd save some money you could put toward a faster prime lens for when you need the extra speed (and would be willing to compromise with a single focal length)?
