All camera manufacturers calibrate their ISO differently.

This is ridiculous when you think about it. There may be different ways to calibrate a thermometer. That doesnt change the fact that 100 C is 100 C, no matter how you measure or calibrate it.

A standard is a standard. How you arrive at that standard does not change this fact. Fujifilm's calibration methods should arrive at the same exposure level as their peers.

This is why some have 50, or 100, or 150, or even 200 as the lowest value.

Where is your evidence to back this up? Difference sensors have different base ISO values due to their sensitivity.

Of all the things to lose sleep over.

You would not know it from many posts here but some in this forum still value honesty.

Graham how about we call a truce?

Truce?  Do I reply to you first with personal attacks, EVER?  Answer: No.   Instead, I post my views, on whatever topic I pick and then like clockwork, a personal attack will arrive.  Asking me for a truce is like Germany asking Poland for a truce in 1939.

You have a great deal of technical knowledge, and I'm sure you can contribute far more to this forum than I can in terms of you technical insight. But you have to promise (and I know this is hard) that anything you say here won't be biased against Fuji or their cameras.

Tiresome.  I own ELEVEN Fujifilm cameras.  ("these amps go to eleven").   I have bought ONLY Fujifilm cameras since around 1996 or so.  Count how many years that is.

Can you find ANY poster here on DPR who is biased against their own chosen gear?  Anywhere?? Can you?

What kind of deranged maniac spends thousands upon thousands of dollars on gear that he hates?

How do you people come up with this stuff?  I really wish I knew.  You are not the only one sadly.   I get accused of hating Fujifilm rather a lot by a few choice individuals.

For God's sake I visited Fujifilm's corporate headquarters when I was in Tokyo!!  I photographed their camera exhibit in great detail!   Yet somehow we are to believe that I hate this company and their cameras?   I can't be the only one who is mystified by this stupidity.

Otherwise it won't go down well. You can be objective, and tell us about their terrible AF and how crap Fuji is and so on, but you aren't allowed to go on and on about how they will will be bust in 12 months ok?

Please link to a SINGLE post where I claim Fujifilm (or any other company) will have gone bust in 12 months.   You will be unable to do so, since I never have.

You might be right,

I can't be right because I never made such a claim.

but honestly you don't know that, and we don't care, we're busy taking pictures.

If only that were true.  You are here whining about me, NOT taking pictures.

If you don't agree then please text me so I can buy some options on your say so. Pius, the more you go on about it, the more bored we get with you and less we believe you

(though I'm sure you are infallible).

A condescending cheap shot even on a "truce" request.

Thank you.
