TIFF vs RAW - recovering corrupted files

I recently had problems with a corrupted SanDisk Compact Flash card for my Nikon D70. Using ZAR (http://z-a-recovery.com/), I was able to recover the files in a TIFF format for free (I shot everything in RAW). I then used another card recovery program (http://www.cardrecovery.com/) which is able to recover all the files in a NEF format, but the program costs $40. My question is this: is it worth $40 to recover the files in their RAW format, or would the TIFF suffice? I own Lightroom and do all my post-processing there.
