Not such a standard freak'n business practice as you'd have folks believe.  Price adjustments are very common.

I have had  this scenario happen quite a few times.  An additional reduction announced after I have placed an online order-  items that had been delivered and items still in transit,  but all within days of the actual purchase.  It has happened with  in-store purchases as well.

All of the above businesses have  graciously refunded the difference to me and all I did was ask.
