I always find it a problem switching between cameras even after getting used to them as they are all so different. After using the Sony Nex with an on/off switch where the compact zoom usually is I am always trying to switch the latter on with the zoom lever without thinking.

The G1X II sounds good but the only worry is losing the built in viewfinder altogether. A little backup EVF in the corner, even the SX50 one though the reviewers would have slated it, would have made it a bit easier as a close focusing G1X is very appealing indeed.

Being used to Nikon the Canon controls would be a bit more irritating than to a regular Canon user. Having 3 brands like I do... Learning new controls and menus is the price one pays for other new and better details like lens, sensor, AF.
No way to get around it. They don't all think the way each of us does.

In time I get used to the basics and enjoy the better aspects of why I got the cam...keep controls simple.
