Do you set NR to -2?

I read it from somewhere that because FUJI "cooked the RAW" (applying NR to RAW) that it's best to set NR to -2 to retain details. Is that correct? I have to admit that both JPEG and RAW from my X-T1 look stunningly smooth/creamy/clean (I am not complaining -- I love it), but I was wondering if the smoothness is at the cost of detail? I thought all the custom settings like NR, Sharpness, Color, etc. only apply to JPEG and have no effect on RAW?

Any insight?
