Reversing a lens for macro on X100?

Hi all,

I signed up for a macro workshop in the summer and plan to use my X100s for it. It has reasonable close focus capabilities and I also own a B+W close-up lens which enhances the magnification a little more. I read however that one can use a reversed mounted lens for macro shots with great results.

Has anyone used this technique in combination with the X100? What's your experience and how is the IQ? I was thinking of getting a cheap Nikon 50mm prime for this purpose.

Any thoughts and insights would be appreciated.

Best,

Mike
