I have some experience with the 200 F2 VRII because I have a kind and generous friend!:-D

This lens is capable of uniquely stunning rendering and it is crazy sharp, even at F2; so much so I usually use manual focus and back-off a bit for most portraits. The bokeh is glorious and the finished image just "pops out". It is a money-making lens if you are a pro and use it well.

However, I wouldn't use it as my main portrait / wedding lens because of its well known "usability" issues. But if you can afford it as a "special occasions" lens it is a world beater.

Attached is an informal test shot at F2, 1/4000 sec ISO 1600 -1 EV off camera flash. It is a JPG straight out of my D600, a contrejour flare test with absolutely no post processing.

Aww, come on! The lens really isn't that sharp. I can't even read the label on the air conditioner against the side of my house reflecting in Olga's eye in this small 100% crop!;-)
