Lens cap stuck/jammed on Fuji 18-55, how can I fix it?

Thanks for the ideas guys. The credit card one seems like it would have been a safe way to try to solve it.

The tech at the camera store said she's seen it many times when a lens is dropped or otherwise takes a big shock. My partner remembers me slipping on some ice last night (I had forgotten it) so I guess I must have landed on my camera bag more than I thought (a padded Lowepro one, which I would have expected to protect the lens more).

In the end she had to cut it off and what was left over was a wrecked mess, but there was only a tiny scratch on the paint of the lens itself.

Bought a generic lens cap to replace it. Hopefully it won't react to small bumps by latching on like a crazed zebra.
