Not to say there aren't amazing places in the US too, just that ours tend to be less crowded. If you can't make it to Pacific Rim National Park or Bamfield, and if you just make it to Victoria (well worth the trip - I grew up here and I never tire of it), East Sooke park and Juan de Fuca park from Jordan River to Port Renfew are both day trips from Victoria. Just wiriting about it makes me want to go there tomorrow...

But, if you don't manage Vancouver Island, the west Coast of Washington is a good second choice. The beaches beyond Aberdeen, or the loop around Olympic National park are pretty amazing too. Just not as many romantic options along those routes...
