Is the 18-55 better at flower closeups than the 22mm?

I am really enjoying my new M with the 22mm lens, but must say I don't think its good for closeups of flowers, etc.. For those of you who have the 18--55 zoom, could you please comment and show some examples of flower close ups you have shot, assuming they are quite good? It would really be helpful to me and hopefully others with the same interests.

Of course, if neither lens has that capability, I would need to either buy the adapter and an appropriate lens or just use one of my other cameras for that purpose.

If it's just user error, I need to improve my skill set with the M.

Regards,

Joel

An example, first image with my M -22mm yesterday, second image with my LX7 last year. Third image is what I would like to be able to do at least.
