As usual, I feel quite daunted posting a pic on this forum as I'm very aware of what a beginner I am, posting my photo alongside so many fantastic shots. But I learn a lot each time, so here's this week's pic, taken whilst mooching around the harbour over the weekend.

We were all beginners once, some of us not that long ago either. Don't let it phase you or stop you posting.

It would be good to see the  the wooden post and rope in a bit more detail. The deep shadow doesn't allow for this. When you start on your PP journey you'll find that you can lift the shadows to show more. Shots with high dynamic range are always difficult to expose so in the end you do what you did and expose for the highlights (or bracket) and sort it out afterwards - at least that's what I do.

It's a good strong subject and I like the composition and the sea behind to give it context.
