RX10 weakness for studio work
Mar 11, 2014

I had my first portrait session in my home studio with a client using the RX10. Photos came out fine but I did discover a weakness and hope there is a work around for this problem. I shot in manual, F4.0 and I think used a 120 shutter speed, iso at 100. Never had a problem prefocusing with my D800 but when using the RX10 the screen was dark until I pressed the shutter half way and for a brief moment I could see the subject (I think it was the preflash light that allowed this). I guess I could use a higher iso and use 2.8, which will not be a problem and can actually be preferred, or try to get more available light in the room. I do not know if there is a setting that can allow me to prefocus with a brighter screen.
