Re: Backpacking/world travel 45mm or 75mm?
In reply to wilsc, Mar 10, 2014

For this type of traveling (backpacking) I'd take maximum 3 lenses. One wide zoom and two wide to normal primes. My choice would perhaps be the 7-14/4.0 plus O17/1.8 and O45/1.8. This kit is about 650g plus camera body and some batteries about 1kg - so nothing...

Re your question: Take the zoom but also a 17/1.8 and 45/1.8. Nothing can beat the look of the f1.8 in the 45 even if the zoom covers this focal length already. Also the 17 as it is super flexible and good for night or ambient light shots. The 75/1.8 would be too much of a specialist to me. How often would you really use it over the long end of the zoom?
