CN-16 LED Modeling light for a Speedlight

I’ve been looking at Speedlights with modeling lights for my Still Life photography.

Unfortunately Flashes with dedicated Modeling lights, like the Nikon SB910 and the Metz mecablitz 58 af-2 are very expensive, especially if I was to buy two, which is why I have looked into this little Neweer CN 16 LED Panel thingy that hooks around the Flash head: http://www.lightingrumours.com/cn-16-led-aftermarket-modelling-light-for-your-flash-4848

I could use this with cheaper Speedlights, such as Yongnuo, Metz or Nissin .

I think I could pick UP  the CN-16  really cheap on ebay.

I was wondering if you guys think this LED light would make a decent Speedlight modeling light? Would you know of any Speedlight softboxes that could fit around this?

I have a feeling that I could wrap a snoot around the flash and still put this on and hopefully still use a grid. If I cannot find any Softbox for this, I have DIY diffuser panels and maybe I can create some other DIY accessories if need be.

Thanks,

D.
