Micro Four Thirds and DOF??

I've been seriously considering the Olympus OM-D EM1, in part, because I love the way it feels in my hands and how responsive it is. I've also considered the Fujifilm XT-1. As much as I like the Olympus EM1 I've been concerned that some folks have raised about the relative lack of DOF and the consequent difficulty in isolating subjects from their backgrounds when such is desirable.

So the question of those of you who shoot with Micro Four Thirds cameras: how big deal is the relative lack of DOF? I understand that I can use primes and relatively faster lenses to help with this. But even doing so, do people find difficulty obtain greater DOF an issue?

Thanks,

Steve
