It would seem to me that to Custom function the shutter speed or aperture would defeat the purpose of shooting with a camera in that every lighting condition requires a change in these two variables. As for the ISO setting, there is an Auto option and it is controllable the same as it is controllable on the X-Pro1. In fact, since the Auto ISO changes as you control the Shutter speed and aperture, it works just about the same.  In practical use I have found the X-T1 to work just as easily as a Custom Function button, perhaps even easier.
