Using discontinued Canon cameras as safe travel equipment
8 months ago

Hey guys,

I currently own a 5D MKIII as main camera together with some L lenses (24 -70 2.8, 70 -200 2.8 , both MKI) and have an older 1DS MKII as backup. I had the chance to travel to a beach destination in northern Peru, Mancora - Piura, near to the border with Ecuador, and since the conditions are a bit harsh (sand, ocean breeze , extreme sunlight) I took the backup camera with a less expensive 24 - 105 L lens. which still produces fine pictures and actually has better focusing system than 5D MKIII. This is what I got out of it, all processed from raw in Photoninja (which I love for high dynamic range pics). Hope you like them, and consider going to this destination on a future trip, as the seafood is SENSATIONAL and the photo ops are great.
