Cheap semi pro kit

I have been away on a year long trip of a life time. Sold everything before going (i mean, everything). Only brang a Nikon P7000. Miss my old trusty DSLR a lot. Was working as a computer techician before and i have done a few paid gigs too even if i only had a Nikon D40.

Now, i am back home in Canada. Need to work. I could get paid gigs a few times a month. For now, not enough to invest into something really expensive. I could do with something dependable. As for my personal use or portrait-street, i would like to be able to use mf lenses. I need bracketing too for some light HDR.

In the upper end, i could get a EM-5 + 12-50 for 850$ + tax. I like WR. It is a stretch but for my budget. Could it be a long term investment? Alright for work (inside, outside, flash, etc)?

For cheap, i could get a Pentax K10D. Again, i like WR. Would need to buy a few good lenses. ME Super was my all time prefered camera. Is going Pentax a dead end long term work path (buying a better/newer body when i have money)?

I could get a Nikon D80 pretty cheap too. Would need to buy a few good lenses also. Could keep it as a D7xxx backup body later. Is DX good enough for semi pro work or i will need to go FX at some point (if money didn't matter...) ?

Thanks!
