FZ50 (difficult) portrait

A friend who just got a new Scottie was interested in some "formal" portraits.  I didn't have much experience lighting dogs, and black dogs are usually a challenge.  Fortunately, he was a very cooperative subject.

I used manual mode for both the camera and flash (2 off-camera flash guns).  The fill light was behind the camera into an umbrella and the key light was a diffused speedlight to the right of the camera.

I think the FZ50 really "shines" for work like this.  The handling is so effortless.

I thought the results were good -- good highlight and shadow detail -- JPEGs needed no color-correction and no touchup short of cropping and some slight vignetting in post.
