Some thoughts on the Nex7, A6000 and A7R
Feb 28, 2014

Maybe you can relate, a lot of us are talking about this.

I shoot professionally with (Canon/Nikon) which I'll continue to use every day. But I found a killer travel camera kit to be the NEX7 with these lenses: the Sony E mount 10-18, the Sony 18-200 and a short prime. The quality, the less weight, the rapid fire when I need it make it superb for me.

Then the A7R came out and I ordered one based on how much I loved the NEX7 for travel. But I cancelled the order because the same lens combo wasn't available yet from Sony in FF. And this is where it's stressful for me. I love the NEX7 and THOSE two lenses for their weight compared to the giant Nikon 14-24. I could use these two E lenses on the A7R but I'd be giving up FF with the crop, so what would I really gain getting the A7r. I choose *NOT* to use lens converter rings. I could use my Nikon lenses but I'm back to weight when traveling. I'm waiting for Sony.

Then, the A6000 was announced and I am keeping that order. I can use the 3 Sony lenses I like so much. But I keep thinking I should get the a7R instead because the future is probably FF, so I should sell the E mount lenses. Except, I get such good quality out of the little APC system right now. Oy. I'm reading similar comments around the web. Maybe you can relate.
