Nice shot! It's a mantis shedding its exoskeleton, which they do up to 10 times throughout their life cycle, depending on the kind of mantis. I raise them and see this regularly in my garden. A very unique site in nature and one rarely seen in the wild. What's interesting about this one is how exposed to the elements it is. They often do this in the middle of a cluster of plants since they are extremely vulnerable both during and after the shedding, until the new skin hardens. I once had one attach itself to the frame of a canopy on my deck. Unfortunately, the wind blew it off in the middle of the process and it did not go well for the little guy after that.
