Chromatic Aberration with the FZ200
Feb 26, 2014

I was looking at a squirrel photo I took recently and noticed significant blue fringing around the background leaves, which I assume is a severe case of chromatic aberration. I haven't encountered anything this severe before in the 1000's of shots I've taken. The shot was back lit and I have brightened it up a bit, but even on the original shot, that blue fringing is still there, although not quite as noticeable. It only seems to apply to the background bits that are out of focus. I don't know how to counter this before I take the shot. I have a trial version of DxO Optics and that has a chromatic aberration removal tool, but it didn't do anything to this at all. Any comments on prevention or removal would be appreciated.
