Should I buy a 70-400 G?

Firstly money: Found one for £700 (~$1050) used. Thus making it probably the cheapest I can find in this country (things are generally more expensive than US, especially electronics).

Use: Who knows lol. I am kind of happy with what I have to be honest. But I have got out of my comfort zone (if you can call it that) and I have started exploring birds, flowers, wildlife etc. Never had the chance till recently. So would be nice for that I guess.

Alternative: I have a beercan. Nothing wrong with it. I could buy a minolta 100mm macro (for £150, ~$225) for insects, flowers, lizards etc. Could buy a teleconverter or something never looked into that. I hear pulling off 1:1 macro work takes some skill, something I wouldn't know about but I won't know about till I try (chicken and egg problem lol). Could also look into cheaper and lighter 70-300 G.

Affordability: yes and no. My parents are nice, I can borrow some money lol. I bet they thought they got rid of me when I started earning

Also this will be the first lens I would have to solely invest in (that'll cost me a considerable amount i.e. more than my monthly pocket money ).
