^ I have the feeling this sensor design is too new for most to gauge its visual potential precisely from the specifications. But then it won't overturn the laws of physics either. If I read correctly each full-colour unit is composed of 6 elements on Quattro and 4 elements on Bayer sensors, so at most Quattro is more like 4/6 of 19MP Bayer resolution except that it has problems of diffraction/aliasing/high noise or whatever from the pixel stacking method. So it already would seem to stand with a few disadvantages before we even get to the matter of colour, which most people didn't realise there was a problem with anyway. That's the kind of uphill struggle Sigma have with the public.

If the sensor's advantage is in its colour at the expense of resolution and high ISO, it's contradictory that Sigma chase resolution instead with fixed-length captive lenses. It sounds like they have the basis of a sensor that could take nice holiday pictures, in which case why not slap a 24-105 f4 type of zoom on there which they have proven ability to do.
